Redwood Cottage is ideally located for touring the picturesque Kingdom of Fife, Perthshire and across the River Tay to Dundee, Carnoustie and north to the Angus Glens.

Golf – Redwood Cottage is within easy striking distance of St Andrews, the home of golf, which regularly hosts the British Open and the Dunhill Masters. There are over forty golf courses on this small peninsula ranging from traditional links, through tree lined parkland to some of the most recently laid out greens and fairways in Scotland.

Fishing – For the fly fishing enthusiast there are many wonderful opportunities to test your skill and fishing tackle, to the limit! Golden Loch and the Lomond Hills Fisheries are just two examples on our door step.

Cycling and Mountain Biking – An area of great variety offering easy cycling on the East Coast and tougher challenges up towards the Grampian Mountains.

The Fife Millennium Cycleways criss-cross Fife offering long distance routes.

Tougher mountain bike challenges can be found in Pitmedden Forest situated five minutes ride from Redwood.

Hill Walking – The local area can accommodate the keen hill-walker as well as those looking for a beautiful ramble from the front door. The celebrated Lomond Hills at Falkland and Bishop Hill at Scotlandwell are within easy reach.

Equestrian Centres – Amongst the many local stables within easy reach of Redwood, Kinshaldy Riding Stables on the North East coast of Fife provides forest and beach hacks, pony rides and lessons from novice to the experienced rider.

Howe Country Centre, one of Fife’s top equestrian centres, offers indoor facilities for a wide range of equestrian disciplines.

Off Road Driving and Quad Biking – There are miles of exciting trails with loch views, hills and valleys ideally suited to quads and off road driving at the Perthshire Off Road Driving Centre just 20 minutes from Redwood.
